Introducing the HALO Vent

The Halo Vent and and Seal are an advanced chest dressings designed to treat penetrating chest wounds. They allow trapped air to escape while preventing air from re-entering, helping manage and prevent tension pneumothorax in emergency situations

Anatomy of the Halo Vent:

Laminar Valve

Why laminar valves? Some competitive products do not act like a true valve and utilize channels in the gel. This greatly increases the cracking pressure to allow air to flow Medica from the patient and out of the channels and to relieve pressure built up. In some cases, this can act like an occlusive dressing and not a vented dressing.

Phase 1

Halo Vent expands as paitient exhales.

Phase 2

Exhalation causes excess pressure to be released from the four vents. Built-up pressure with-in the thoracic cavity escapes.

Phase 3

The four vents seal as the paitient inhales, maintaining thoracic cavity pressure.
